  A TIJ print cartridge includes a printhead with a self-contained ink reservoir, dispensing ink droplets from the printhead only when required. Thus, there is no risk of accidental spills and ink wastage.
   
• Safer, greener TIJ inks are now available.
  Water-based inks, biodegradable inks, solvent-based inks with lower VOCs, UV LED curable inks are now on the market as greener alternatives to mineral oil-based inks. Water-based inks, for example, emit significantly lesser VOCs and odors during printing as compared to solvent inks. RYNAN produces environmentally-friendly high quality aqueous, solvent-based and UV LED curable inks for TIJ printing. Our innovative aqueous inks print excellently on flexible packaging and thin films, are fade and water-resistant and have enhanced readability.   TIJ printers are not prone to ink spills as the cartridges are enclosed, resulting in a cleaner production area. This means there is no need for additional cleaning solvents which can be hazardous to the environment.
   
• Reduced emission of VOCs.
  As TIJ systems use minimal solvents and utilize self-contained ink cartridges, the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released into the atmosphere reduces by almost 90% as compared to CIJ systems. CIJ printers, on the other hand, release excessive amounts of VOCs during printing, posing high risks to the health of workers and the environment.
   
• Reduced cost of ink consumables.
  Solvent is the main consumable for CIJ printers and evaporates easily into the atmosphere throughout the printing process. As such, CIJ systems require a periodic refresh of fluids to the recaptured ink to maintain viscosity and ensure optimal print quality. This adds to the overall cost of ink consumables. TIJ uses self-contained cartridges that prevent evaporation, and therefore do not require additional solvents. Furthermore, TIJ systems deliver the lowest cost of production for short-run and medium-run printing jobs.
   
• Replaces the need for physical labels.
  With non-contact, direct product marking systems such as TIJ, it completely eliminates the need for physical adhesive labels. These labels are attached to backings which are discarded, along with the ink ribbons that are commonly used to mark such labels. These contribute exponentially to environmental waste. By choosing non-contact coding and marking systems, companies can save on the additional costs of purchasing labels and further help reduce overall packaging waste.
   
• Lower energy consumption.
  TIJ printers consume up to 80% less power compared to CIJ printers and even much less compared to laser printers. TIJ systems also require the least maintenance, which adds to production efficiency.

Global e-waste (discarded electrical or electronic devices) is on the surge. It is predicted that global e-waste will peak 74 million metric tonnes by 2030, fueled by an increased consumption in electrical and electronic devices, shorter life-cycles and inadequate restoration solutions.

As one of the largest producers of E-waste in the world, the India government has mandated strict guidelines for managing these end-of-life products. Customers call a TOLL-FREE number for the e-waste management company to collect any e-waste such as used cartridges where usable metal/ plastic components are then extracted for recycling. This ensures that none of our e-waste ends up in landfills causing adverse damage to the environment.

Besides waste elimination and recycling efforts, our factories in Vietnam are installed with rooftop solar panels on all manufacturing facilities for energy conservation.
